The Flue Check Damper, also known as flue non-return damper, is an essential automatic protection device installed on flue gas ducts, boiler exhaust pipelines and ventilation systems of thermal power plants, industrial furnaces and environmental protection flue gas treatment lines. Its core function is to allow one-way flow of flue gas while effectively preventing gas backflow, hot air reverse surge and smoke refluence when the fan or boiler stops running. It maintains stable air flow inside the pipeline and protects upstream equipment from damage caused by reverse flue gas.
This damper adopts a robust all-welded steel structure, suitable for long-term operation in high-temperature, dusty and corrosive flue gas environments. The main body is made of high-quality carbon steel or heat-resistant alloy steel, with reinforced frame to withstand pipeline pressure and vibration. The internal swing blades are designed with streamline shape to minimize flow resistance. Equipped with counterweight and flexible hinge mechanism, the blades can open automatically under the thrust of forward flue gas and close tightly by gravity and counterweight once the airflow reverses. High-temperature resistant sealing strips are installed around the blades to eliminate gaps, ensuring excellent airtight performance and zero obvious leakage.
The working process is fully automatic without manual operation or external driving power. During normal operation, the positive flue gas flow pushes the blades open smoothly, and the flue gas passes through the duct unobstructed. When the induced draft fan shuts down or the system pressure fluctuates abnormally, the pressure of reverse flue gas disappears immediately. Driven by gravity and counterweight, the blades rapidly swing back to fully close the channel. This one-way blocking effect stops hot flue gas, dust and harmful gas from flowing back to boilers, fans and other precision equipment, avoiding equipment overheating, dust accumulation and operational failures.
Featuring simple structure, reliable performance and low failure rate, this check damper needs only routine inspection and has extremely low maintenance costs. It runs stably under continuous high temperature and heavy dust conditions, and will not get stuck or deformed easily after long-term use. With compact overall layout, it is easy to install and fits various rectangular and circular flue pipelines.
Widely applied in thermal power plants, chemical plants, metallurgical furnaces, cement plants and waste gas treatment systems, the flue check damper is a standard safety component for flue gas conveying systems. It effectively ensures the safe and continuous operation of the whole ventilation and exhaust system.
