The Electric Knife Gate Valve is an automated linear motion isolation valve integrating an electric actuator and a sharp knife gate structure. Optimized for industrial pipelines carrying fibrous solids, suspended particles, sludge, pulp, and abrasive media, it provides precise, stable, and repeatable on-off control for long-term continuous production systems. Unlike manual or pneumatic knife gate valves, the electric-driven version features accurate electric stroke control, steady output torque, and intelligent operation, making it ideal for unattended workshops, remote pipeline networks, and fully automated industrial processes. It is widely applied in wastewater treatment, mining, chemical industry, power plants, papermaking, and material conveying systems.
The valve operates through an electric actuator that converts electrical energy into linear mechanical thrust to drive the sharp blade gate up and down along precise guide seats. During closing, the thin, hardened gate blade produces a powerful shearing force to cut off tangled fibers, residual sediments, and suspended impurities, thoroughly solving common jamming and incomplete shut-off issues of ordinary valves. In the fully open state, the gate completely withdraws from the flow passage, forming a full-bore straight-through channel with minimal flow resistance and no medium accumulation. Equipped with built-in stroke limit and overload protection devices, the electric knife gate valve automatically stops when reaching the full-open or full-close position, preventing structural damage caused by over-travel and ensuring safe and reliable cyclic operation.
The valve body is constructed with high-strength ductile iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel to withstand abrasive, corrosive, and high-load working conditions. The gate plate undergoes surface hardening and anti-corrosion treatment to maintain long-term cutting sharpness and wear resistance. The elastic sealing system adopts high-performance rubber, PTFE, or fluororubber materials with automatic wear compensation capability, achieving bi-directional tight sealing and zero leakage under rated working pressure. The overall structure is compact, lightweight, and easy to install and maintain, with strong adaptability for horizontal and vertical pipeline installation.
Equipped with standard electric actuators, the valve supports local manual operation and remote PLC automatic control. It can realize centralized management, signal feedback, and linkage control, greatly improving production automation and operation efficiency. Compared with pneumatic and hydraulic types, the electric knife gate valve requires no air source or hydraulic station, saving auxiliary equipment costs and simplifying on-site layout. With stable performance, low noise, high control accuracy, and low failure rate, it has become a core automatic cutoff valve for modern industrial fluid and slurry conveying systems.
